Sneak peek – Stampin Up Occasions catalogue

After spending a long time tidying up my craft room from all the Christmas crafting and markets, I rewarded myself by playing with some new goodies. These will be available from January 4th.

This stamp set is called Lift Me Up and it was one of the first sets on my wish list for versatility – both female and male cards and lots of sentiment to cover many different occasions. It also has a coordinating thinlit set called Up and Away which can be purchased as a bundle to save even more.

Best of all though is the awesome designer series paper (DSP) called Carried Away which could be yours for FREE with any $90 purchase from any catalogue between January 4th and March 31st. This paper does a lot of the work for you by creating a backdrop to the images.

The two longer cards are actually money holders. I found the idea on a fellow demonstrator’s blog –  Mel Pagano, My Paper Oasis. Quick and easy for those last minute gifts. The ideas for the cards came from Pinterest.

More sneak peeks to come!

Christmas table favours

I have been making Christmas table favours for years now and  I love the challenge of coming up with something different each time. It’s all about the packaging rather than the contents but chocolate seems to always be a hit with both males and females.

These cute bags hold Lindt chocolate balls. Don’t you love Rudolph’s nose? I had a slight panic when I realised that I had run out of red coloured enamel dots until I realised that I could use the clear rhinestones instead Did you know you can colour them with sharpie pens to change the colour?  Make sure you try it sometime!

These gifts are for the kids table. The Popcorn box is a great size to fill with some Cadbury favourites chocolates.

This gold and silver bag was one we did in a class in November. I saw this idea originally on a blog but I cannot find it now to give the original person credit. I will add it as soon as I find it again! This particular bag was a gift for my hairdresser yesterday. It’s hard to see in the photo but the white cardstock is Fancy Frost specialty paper in the Holiday catalogue. It has a white-on-white texture and is really stunning.

The cute reindeer is from the Santas Sleigh bundle was a late purchase for me but one I just love. A simple way to jazz up a cellophane bag is with some designer series paper (dsp) and a cute cutout. See how the a simple change of colours totally changes the look. Match the colours to the chocolates or gift inside and you’re done!

How are your Christmas preparations going? Hopefully there is something crafty on your Christmas table too?

Another weekend, another market!

Yesterday was my last market for this year. It was in the gymnasium of a local school which was very fortunate as it was a very hot 37c ! I think this must have put a lot of people off as it wasn’t as busy as we were hoping. I was lucky to be under a huge industrial fan that kept a breeze moving albeit a warm one.

I took limited chocolates as I was worried about everything melting (including me!) and I did give some away to other stall holders at the end of the day as they were getting a little soft!

I ended up with a slightly odd space as I had a walk way on either side of me. That stumped me for a minute as how to best set up. I’m glad we weren’t too busy as I was by myself and it would have been hard to manage customers on all 3 tables at once.

In hindsight I should have changed the tables around but I now know for next time!

There were about 40 stalls which made for a really nice atmosphere and everyone was super friendly.

So that’s it from the market side for me for this year but I am still keen to see what comes next year.

I still have some stock left if anyone is looking for a last minute gift.

Ferrero Rocher treats

I have been super busy behind the scenes finishing off my Christmas gifts and market stall items.

I have also been making up orders such as these Ferrero Rocher wrappers. I made these using the Detailed Floral thinlits. The brief was for a black and gold gift treat to compliment the main gift of the same colours.

I’m quite chuffed with how these turned out, simple yet really elegant I think! Wouldn’t these make lovely table favours for a wedding or special birthday? Just change the sentiment and colours to suit the occasion.

It’s simply a case of scoring a piece of cardstock twice to make a base and then using the larger of the framelits on each end to create the lace effect. Running it through my big shot a few times ensured the pieces cut well and then I used my die brush to push out the smaller pieces.

A simple thin gold and white bow and tag complete the package.

I did use a few glue dots to fix the chocolates to the base so they didn’t fall out.
