Hello all and Happy Australia Day!
I don’t have a card to blog today as we have had a rather eventful week! I have had a bad back/shoulder/arm on and off since Christmas which has severely limited my crafting time and has been very frustrating! Then yesterday Miss 14 had a bad fall off her bike and ended up at with 8 stitches in her elbow and knee (as well as lot of grazes, bruises and missing skin!)
So we are resting up and trying to stay cool in this very warm weather before heading out later today.

Ok so the Tasty Trucks would have to be, hands down, my favourite 2017 sale-a-bration set – it’s just soooo cute!
I have been following Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs for years now as I just love her style of cards. This is one she did on a live facebook class last week. I couldn’t resist having a go myself. Check our her blog it’s full of insporation and awesome tips and tricks.
I love how you can colour the truck to suit your papers and cardstock or do as I did with this card, I simply stamped it straight onto the cardstock then heat embossed it in white. The strip of polka dot paper is a technique called paper piecing which is basically stamping the same image onto patterned paper then cutting it out and attaching it to the image.
All the papers came from the Cupcakes and Carousels paper stack (6″ x 6″). This is a lovely pack of vintage style patterns and lovely colours – think bermuda bay, calypso coral, peekaboo peach and so saffron.

How fun is this set! I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it in the catalogue and I cetainly wasn’t disappointed. It’s a really fun set with lots of sentiments and images that build together to make fun images. It makes me smile 🙂 Being photopolymer makes is easy to line up the images.
This card I originally saw on Pinterest was made by Holly Stene . Mine is ever so slightly changed to suit what I had on hand.
I have used the bermuda bay write maker to colour in the cape but I have also been playing with my watercolour pencils which I just love too – I find colouring so theraputic. Using the watercolour paper and aqua painters gives a really soft washed look or you can just use whisper white cardstock to get a similar effect.
I can see many more of these cards being produced 🙂
