Teacher Appreciation Day…

Teacher Appreciation Day is on this week  at my daughter’s school. We are asked to bring in something yummy for morning tea/lunch but I always like to give a little handmade something to her teacher too. This year she has two teachers so I decided to make a little set of handmade cards for each of them. After watching a YouTube video over the weekend from a US demonstrator Dena Rekow (The Creativity Cave) I decided to make some of her thank you cards and I have to say I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. See her cards HERE.

Each bag contains 3 cards of different colours with the neutral base of Basic Grey. The background was made by repeatedly stamping the small strip from the Crazy About You stamp set. The flower also comes from the same set and was punched out with the Flower Medallion punch. I punched out one stamped flower and a plain flower in the same colour cardstock to give it a bit more of a 3D look. The banner and sentiment are from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and the matching Banner Triple punch.

The tags were made with the same stamp sets and punches.

These were really quick and easy  to put together and I think they make a lovely little inexpensive gift that I hope will be well received!

Some Market stall projects

Hi everyone, I’ve been a busy little beaver trying to get stock made for my market stalls and I thought perhaps I should share some with you all.

Some stamp sets, papers and dies I have used a retired and no longer available but you can mix and match with any papers that you have.

Let me know if any interest you and I can put them aside – or better still why not come along to one of the markets and say Hi!

Most of these designs I have found on Pinterest – I find Pinterest a fabulous wealth of information and ideas and it’s my go-to place when I need ideas. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut with a particular stamp set so I just type in Stampin Up and the name of the stamp set and bam – there’s a huge range of ideas. Why not try it yourself sometime?

Cookie Cutter Christmas Class Cards!!

I dare you to try saying that fast a few times – Cookie Cutter Christmas class cards,  Cookie Cutter Christmas class cards …. ha!

We had loads of fun at our last class playing with the Cookie Cutter set and matching punch. The set contains Santa, a reindeer, a gingerbread man, a bear and an Eskimo. The Santa and reindeer are both cut out using the same punch. So Santa’s legs become the reindeer’s antlers –  cool hey? A little bit of colouring for Santa and a red glimmer nose for Rudolph and the cards are done. Simple and perfect for mass production cards.

The mini handbag is a real cutie and quite simple to make. This sample I made uses retired paper but in the class we used the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper (DSP) Inside is a small 4×4″ note card and an envelope made with the envelope punch board.
I have made a few of these to sell st my upcoming markets. I thought they would make great gifts for teachers, co-workers and friends. Add a gift card,  some jewellery, chocolates etc and you have a lovely handmade gift.  Mix up the papers and colours and you have a cute birthday gift. Who wouldn’t love that?

Please let me know if you would like me to make some for you.

Gift packaging and another market.

Hello all, hope your weekend was an enjoyable one. We spent the weekend checking out some local craft markets to get some ideas for my own stall setup.

I even managed  to sign up for another market on Saturday 10th December at Thornlie Christian College in Canningvale. This one is inside the school gymnasium so we won’t be at the mercy of the weather and I won’t need help setting up a tent! Win, win!

I have been busy making a few types of gifts and gift card holders. What do you think?

Christmas ornaments. I love these little faces so I’ve kept the packaging simple.

Gift card holders. These will also fit a slim chocolate bar.

Another style of gift card holders. These are folded paper bags with two pockets, one for a gift card and one for a notecard.

Most of the papers I have used are now retired and no longer available but you can always mix and match with the current papers – especially when most are on special this month!

An awesome Gumtree find!

Hi all, a quick post today as its still school holidays here….

I am super excited to have found this greeting card spinner stand to display all my handmade cards. I have been searching for a while but they are very expensive new, especially if you need to add in postage. I managed to source one locally on Gumtree for $40 so I am a very happy girl 😍
Now I can keep it stocked all year round. It even came with extra attachments to add even more cards!

Please let me know if you would like to purchase any of my cards, I’m always happy to take orders. I will be showcasing some Christmas cards in the next week to help you get organised before the silly season hits us – I hate to say it but it’s not that far way!!
