Stitched shapes framelits dies

These framelits would hands down have to be my favourite dies for all my crafting. The set contains  he perfect size and shape for each project and the stitched edge gives them a really elegant look. BUT, they have been a little bit elusive to find as they aren’t in the current catalogues but they are available to order online.

They are fantastic for sentimements, for layering, for gift tags etc. the set consists of squares, circles and ovals means there is a shape for every project. These also nest perfectly with the layering square, circle and oval framelits.

A case of CASEing myself!

What is CASEing you ask? It’s short for ‘copying and selectively editing’ a project. So for today’s project, I got my inspiration from the last 3D frame I made with the Lift Me Up bundle and used the same layout but changed the images and papers to get a totally different look!

Here is the Lift me Up Frame

And here is the one I made using the Oh So Succulent bundle.

See how different they look just by changing the papers and colours. I love making these frames, the are really easy to make and lots of fun!

As always please click on the images below to head straight to my shop. Remember the free glimmer paper is only available until the end of March.

Mixing up the colours of the Oh So Succulent set.

As promised, I am sharing another card today using the Oh So Succulent stamp set but totally mixing up the colours to show how versatile this stamp set is.

I made my own designer series paper using the Oh So Succulent stamp set. The colours I have used are Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party. Stamping off the inks on a scrap piece of paper before stamping your cardstock can creates a huge range of colours. It’s a little hard to see but I have coloured the flowers with the clear Wink of Stella pen. I love this Pen!

I was inspired by this post from Julie at the way we stamp. http://www.thewaywestamp.com/2017/03/oh-so-succulent-background-for-gdp076/  Julie has done a variety of colours on her blog – why not give some of them a try yourself?

The sentiment comes from the set One Big Meaning.

Oh So Succulent class

Last week we had a class showcasing the Oh So Succulent bundle (pages 20-21 Occasions catalogue) Wow! There is no limit to what you can do with this set! I actually had trouble narrowing down the choices for the cards and I had so many ideas running through my head. Pinterest is full of amazing Succulent creations cascading out of all sorts of pots, boxes and even tree branches.

These are the two cards we made, and we also decorated one of the clear tiny treat boxes. You can see the boxes below, I don’t seem to have a photo of my own!

I let the girls pick from a range of colours to suit their tastes and that complimented the designer series paper – Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Sweet Sugarplum and Top Top Taupe. Did you know that all the colours used in our designer series papers (dsp) are listed on the back of each pack and also in the catalogue? Very handy I can tell you, there’s no need to try and match colours by guessing  (especially at night time when the lighting isn’t always the best!)

This is a collage picture taken by one of the ladies, it shows that each put their own spin on their cards and I just love the results. I always get great ideas from them!

One asked if we could use the Happy Mothers Day sentiment to send a card to the UK and it just so happened that there was just this sentiment in this set – winning!

I’m sure we could spend a whole weekend playing with just this set! Im thinking pots, wreaths, frames, this list goes on. I’m currently making another 3D frame to showcase the beautiful papers.

We also talked about mixing up the colours and making our own background paper. Sometimes we can get stuck in the colours that are used in the catalogue images or the designer series papers so it’s nice to extend ourselves and create something a little outside the box. I will share that card with you next time.

I run my classes monthly and would love you to join us. April is going to be all about Easter 🐣 My full class list can be found HERE

Special order – 40th Birthday

Today’s card was a special order for a 40th birthday boy. The brief was simple – red, soccer, 40th.

Straight away I knew I wanted to use a new bundle called Custom Tee. This is a fantastic set of customisable tshirts and singlets that can be customised on a huge variety of ways.

It is a little hard to see but I did stamp the outline of the tshirt before using the big shot to cut it out. The sentiment is from the same set. The little numbers dies are retired unfortunately but we do have a few sets that you could use instead like Labeler Alphabet.

I have since made a few of this style of card for my girl’s sports coaches. Switch out the colours to match the team colours and you are done! I will show them later once they have been given out.

I love how the set includes the little extras like a tie, collar, pocket etc. There is even a sash. A good range of sentiments and occasions makes this a very versatile set.

AND did you see that there is a coordinating stamp set you can earn for FREE this month? It’s called Designer Tee – fun sentiments to customise your Tee.
