Mothers Day cards

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday here in Australia so I have some cards to share with you in case you are looking for some inspiration!

Both were made using the retiring Oh So Succulent set. I’m sad this is retiring as it is a stunning set, lovely papers and limitless ways you can use both the images and the dies. This is one of those sets that wont ever be leaving my craft room!

For the first card I stuck to a monochromatic colour scheme using Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and ink. I used the petal burst embossing folder to add an extra layer and some texture to the card. An elegant doily, a pop of white and of course some bling!

The second card is called a technique called a Dutch Fold card. I have shown this technique before – it’s super simple but really effective. Again, keeping the card simple but letting the gorgeous papers do all the talking! Even the Mothers Day sentiment is included in this set, it’s a real keeper I tell you!

If you are keen on the set and papers make sure you place an order by May 31st.

Card Class Creations!

This week I have been busy with classes. I love my classes – we always have lots of fun and laughs!

This week we focused on the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle. Currently you can purchase this bundle for $81.25 that’s a savings of 10%. These items are carrying over into the new catalogue but wont be available as a bundle. So if this is on your wish list, you might want to consider purchasing it before the end of May!

The first card is made using blushing bride and rich razzleberry. The dragonfly image is stamped then cut out with the framelits. Layered over the top is another die cut this time using Vellum giving the whole image a soft look.

The second card has little stamping, I wanted to showcase the other dies in the set. I just love these dragonflies! The base is Island Indigo and the white card was embossed with The hexagon embossing folder which looks just like honeycomb!

The designer series paper (DSP) I have used for both cards is the Blooms and Bliss which is in the retirement list and has unfortunately already sold out.

What are you creating this weekend?

School Fundraiser – Stampin Up Style!

Recently my daughter’s school (along with another 2 schools) organised a fundraiser night with a talk at our local high school by the one and only Maggie Dent. Whilst I couldn’t attend the event myself I was more than happy to make a donation for the raffle prizes.

Stampin’ Up! sent me a HUGE box of goodies to donate. All I needed to do was put it together in some cute plastic boxes I found at my local $2 shop, wrap them in cellophane and ribbon and and attach a cute tag.

The tags I made with the  Best Birds set and the matching Birds and blooms thinlits. I then water coloured the images using my water colour pencils and a blender pen.

I heard the night was a big success!

More Bloomin’ Heart cards

I made these cards a while ago for some special birthday girls but wanted to wait until after my blog hop last week to share them as I knew I wanted to do a similar design. I had loads of fun getting inky and experimenting with different colour combinations.

I try to make the gift and card to match so I like to make a bag or co-ordinate the colours from the gift.

This one I forgot to take a photo of the card on its own 🙄 but it is the same design just using the blue hues to match the gift bag colours.

I think I’m a bit addicted to these, I can’t seem to stop making them! I’m so pleased the Bloomin heart thinlits are carrying over into the new catalogue.

Why not give them a try for yourself? Experiement with different colours and see what you come up with. The great thing about these is that not two are exactly alike and there is not right or wrong!

These dies are amazing there is no limit to the patterns and shapes you can make with these dies. Layer them together to get some stunning shapes. The papers are beautiful and there are a couple of gold foiled pages that are very elegant. The stickers are a really nice thick quality and layer beautifully. And the tassels – oh my!

Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop!

18143072_10154213707025882_1871921095_n.jpg

Hello and a big warm welcome! You have probably arrived here via Mandy, thank you for clicking through…

The gorgeous Kelly Kent at Paper Adventures invited me to be a honorary member of her Paper Adventure team’s blog hop showcasing some of the new products in the soon-to-be-released 2017-2018 annual catalogue.

I first met Kelly online last year and as we got chatting and realised we had a lot in common (besides our love of Stampin’ Up!). She is so generous with her time and ideas and is a such a talented crafter. She amazes me with her ability to achieve so much in a day!She joined me late last year hosting a market stall at her old primary school which was a really fun day. She has since helped me countless times with questions and advice.

When it came to attending the Onstage event in Perth a few weeks ago she adopted me for the day as my team were attending at the Sydney location. She let me hang out with her team and we had a blast. The ladies in her team are just as gorgeous – more than happy to share and equally talented as you have already seen in this blog hop! Thank you girls for making me feel so welcome.

onstage 2017

So enough chatter, I have a card to share with you all – that’s what you came for right?  The theme for the hop was Prize Patrol – to use the new stamp sets and products we won at the Onstage event. I was lucky to win a beautiful sentiment stamp set called ‘Special Celebrations’ It’s designed to be grouped in pairs – one sentiment for the front of the card and the other for the inside.

And here is the Wedding card I made.

I knew I wanted to create a wedding card as I love the font and the words in this set. As I only had sentiments and no images to play with I decided to use the Bloomin’ Heart thinlit die to create a focal point. I die cut this in our beautiful shimmery white cardstock. It has a very subtle sheen to it which I thought was lovely for a wedding. I sponged the heart randomly with 3 inks using the sponge dauber in calypso coral, peekaboo peach and tangerine tango. I first saw this idea on Patty Bennett’s website (www.pattystamps.com).

To add some interest to the front of the card I added a panel of Very Vanilla which I embossed with the Hexagon embossing folder. I added the sentiment then tied a bow using the gorgeously soft Very Vanilla Lace Ribbon.

The sentiment for the inside of the card I wanted to stand out a bit so I stamped it in tangerine tango on peekaboo peach cardstock and then used the Lots of Labels dies to cut around it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog – next up is Siobhan
