Raffle gift for the Leeming Fete

As stallholders for the Leeming Christmas Fete we were asked if we would like to donate a gift to the school’s mega raffle. I thought it was a great idea so got to work.

I decided to make a gift set of cards to showcase the gorgeous Cookie Cutter Christmas set. I have used this set so much this year, it’s so easy, quick and fun. I made 4 cute cards, packaged them up with envelopes into a white box with a clear lid then set about creating a belly band to finish it off.

I bought the boxes online quite a while ago now but you could make your own or use a clear cellophane bag tied up with ribbon.  Don’t you think these would make a great gift for someone this Christmas?

I was really pleased with the end product. Hope the recipient loved it too!

Last weekend was a busy and hot one! Sunday morning right and early saw Kelly and I setting up early for the Leeming Primary School Christmas Fete. What fun we had!

The weather was hot but there was a bit of a breeze – I had taken some chocolate treats so I was hoping they would last the day! Luckily they were good sellers and they lasted well throughout the day.

I met some lovely people and it was so great to see such a variety of items for sale – not to mention the food choices. I might or might not have ‘helped’ the cake stall ladies clear out the last of their baked goodies and the end of the day 🙂

There is already talk of the school having another fete next year so I’m putting my hand up for that.

Can you have too many craft fairs?

So last Thursday I got a heads up from the school p&c (parents & citizens committee) asking if anyone was interested in an online stall to help out the school and if so could it be organised by Saturday at the latest so the flyers could go out this week!

Luckily I am in full swing for market prep so I jumped onboard right away. The idea is that the parents and kids can shop online for a variety of products and then there will also be one afternoon and one morning where we can set up a stall and have a mini market.

Sounds like fun doesn’t it? I’m really keen to see what we have on offer in our school community. We have a pretty large school (nearly 600 kids) and a real diversity of cultures. Our P&C committee put in huge hours of effort to come up with interesting ideas and activities for the kids and parents alike so I am more happy to help out where I can.

I already have items made for markets so I was quickly able to put together some photos. Hopefully it will be a success!

Market photos….

Well last Saturday was my first craft fair for quite some time. It ended up being a very hot day so I was glad to be inside and under the air conditioning! This market was inside a school auditorium so it was a lovely venue. My eldest daughter came with me for moral support and to help set up and pack away which was a great help. 017019018I was able to squeeze my card spinner to the side of my table which was great as I had only booked a small table and didn’t have a lot of room to display my cards! Another stall holder set up next to me after these photos were taken.

Unfortunately the day was very slow sales wise, there were very few customers coming through the door. But I did meet some new people and everyone was very friendly and supportive.

It was a learning curve and I will go into the next market with a few more ideas.
